WINNERS OF THE III JOANA MARIA POL I FIOL CONTEST

The eclectic library of the IES Santa Maria d’Eivissa, halfway between today and tradition, hosted last Friday the awards ceremony of the III Concurs Literari Joana Maria Pol i Fiol. This contest was established in memory of the teacher of the same name, whose love for literature and classical culture motivated the Library Commission of l’IES Santa Maria d’Eivissa to pay an annual tribute to the two passions of the teacher.

on Monday, 13 from December, a las 19:00 hours the poetry book of Bartomeu Ribes is presented, Priap on the island in white (EDICIONS AÏLLADES, 2020), that was published in the middle of the pandemic and could not be presented in public.

The producer Akrobati-K Espectáculos, in association with the Sant Antoni de Portmany town hall, premiered last day 1 December the function Te n’aDones. The act was framed in the commemorations of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to denounce the serious social problem that sexist abuse constitutes. The theater-dance performance, held in the auditorium of the Cervantes Cultural Center, was directed by actress Carol Brest with the collaboration of Raquel Esteban, Oscar León and Gisselle Marimon.

Antònia Vicens i Picornell (Santanyí, 1941) is the writer of the month for December at the Eivissa Municipal Library on the occasion of its 80 anniversary.After spending her youth working as a hotel secretary during the summers, and study languages and stenography, the Mallorcan author began her literary career with the compilation of stories Banc de fusta (1968), Cantonigrós Award in 1965.

That May day was going to be a quiet day for the Deutschland crew.. The musicians were interpreting military pieces to distract the sailors and the projector was being prepared to offer a pleasant film session with the city of Ibiza in the background. It was going to be a quiet day until two Katiuska planes appeared at the perfect height and speed for the attack.. The lookout who saw them arrive barely had time to set off the alarms.
