"BETWEEN SEE AND BELIEVE IS EVERYTHING", AT THE MAIN THEATER OF PALMA

On the sixth of July there will be a dramatized reading of "Between seeing and believing is everything" at the Teatre Principal in Palma.

"The shape of dreams"

This is a text by Magdalena Sbert, based on the stories that emerged in a creative project by the collective “La forma dels somnis”. “La forma dels somnis” is a project that arises with the intention of making a creative reflection on the relationship between artistic expression and mental health. Fourth-year Catalan Language and Literature students and users of mental health services from the Hospital Comarcal de Inca and the La Nostra Veu association participate collaboratively in this project.. The project is coordinated by Mercè Picornell, of the University; Vincent Galaso, Association; and Xavier Delgado, of the hospital.

How to create "Between seeing and believing is everything"

The course 2021-2022 had as work theme the concept of monster from workshops and conferences. The result was a compilation volume of fifty texts with prologues by the researcher David Roas, the writer Sebastià Perelló and the cartoonist Abel Carrasco. This book is still in the review phase and there is no date yet for the edition and publication.

Inside this project, the actress Magdalena Sbert has contributed with the preparation of a dramatic reading for which she has used the texts collected in the volume. The main idea of ​​this artistic creation is that all humans have monsters and share fear. From a single voice, talk about those fears, how they speak and what provoke us. This proposal is accompanied by the music of Marie del Bosquet and Benjamin Payet, who already participated in the previous course.
