ANTONI VIDAL FERRANDO, JAUME FUSTER AWARD 2023
This Tuesday the Jaume Fuster Prize was awarded to the writer Antoni Vidal Ferrando, originally from Majorca. This is an award given by the Association of Writers in the Catalan Language, the EFTA, and whose winner is chosen among all the members of the association by voting.

Vidal received the distinction this Tuesday from the hands of Sebastià Portell, president of the entity, in a press conference that was also attended by D. Sam Abrams and various media outlets.
With the aim of celebrating the delivery of this award to the writer Vidal Ferrando and helping to promote his work, the AELC intends to carry out three activities in various parts of the Catalan-speaking territories that the winner will attend. The activities will be in the month of May in Barcelona (día 11), Palma (día 23) and Valencia (día 30). On the other hand, EFTA will also publish a volume dedicated to the author.

Antoni Vidal Ferrando was born in Santanyí (Mallorca) en 1945. In addition to cultivating literature, he is a teacher by profession.: master of arts, He has worked as a teacher and has also dedicated himself to research and dissemination.
The poetic work of Vidal Ferrando takes as its starting point his Majorcan identity to, from her, develop a discourse on humanity in contemporary times.
JAUME FUSTER AWARD, recognition of literary career
The Jaume Fuster Award is a recognition of the literary career of a contemporary author chosen from among the members of the AELC based on voting. So that, the choice of the winner is made from two rounds of voting, in the second of which the recognized among the three authors with the most votes is chosen.
In previous editions this recognition has been granted to numerous writers, among them Maria Antònia Oliver, Quim Monzó, Jaume Cabré, Joan Margarit and Antonia Vicens.
