The Permanent Youth Commission of Mallorca for the Language has organized a literary contest for Sant Jordi de 2023. Modalities of the Sant Jordi literary contest 2023
The Sant Jordi literary contest 2023 It will consist of three different categories: Fiction short, poetry and essay.
The Maria Antònia Oliver short story award will be given to the best short story presented. The theme of the same is free and the maximum length of the writing must be two pages..
The Antonia Vicens award, poetry, will be awarded to the best poem or set of poems. Again, The theme is free. The maximum extension is 30 verses.
The Carme Riera essay prize will be awarded to the best essay, with a maximum length of 5 pages. in this case, The theme of the text should be "The impact of tourism in Mallorca in the Catalan language".
General rules of the Sant Jordi literary contest 2023
According to the bases, Participation in the contest is open to all young people between 15 y 30 years. Of course, the works must be in catalan, totally unprecedented and have won awards in no other contest. Any text that has been released will not be accepted (publication, reading in public), as well as those who have committed the publishing rights.
Texts written on a computer must be submitted. For reasons of uniformity and length, they should have line spacing 1,5, Arial or Times New Roma font and size 12.
Authors may participate with one work in each category, Nevertheless, must send an email for each work presented with two documents in PDF. In the first, whose title should be the pseudonym, will contain the text with its title and signed again with a pseudonym. The second text will contain the title of the work, the pseudonym and personal data of the author so that the organizers can contact in case of winning.
It is important to bear in mind that participation implies the assignment of the work to Joves de Mallorca per la Llengua, that you can do with them what you consider appropriate.
Participants must send their works to concursliterarijovesllengua@gmail.com. The term to present the writings will close on April 2, 2023.
Awards
The jury will be made up of prestigious young writers in Catalan. The verdict will be made public on the social networks of Joves de Mallorca per la Llengua the same day 23 April and the award ceremony will be on 7 May in Acampallengua.
The prize for the winners will consist of a double ticket to Acampallengua and a small gift not yet revealed.
