IBICENCOS CORSARIOS IN PALMA

This Thursday 20 de marzo, a las 19.00 Hours presented the 2nd edition of the book by José María Prats ‘Corsarios Ibicencos in Gibraltar’ (Ibiza Editons), In the Military History Museum of Balearic Islands, located on Sant Miquel de Palma street in an act that will be attended by the author and the editor, Ramon Mayol,.

Many Ibizan sailors participated in the attempt to recover Gibraltar, forming part of the endowments of the jabeques of the Royal Navy or aboard their own corsair ships. Among the documents that are preserved in the Historical Archive of Ibiza, the names of Miguel García stand out, antonio sierra, Bernardo Guasch, Rafael Prats, Juan Ros, Bartolome Cavanillas and, above all, Antonio Ferrer's, xebek pattern Saint Teresa of Jesus.

The author

José María P. Marí He born in Ibiza in 1959. It's official General Corps of the Navy, specialty Naval Aviation Pilot (AVP) Staff and graduate from the School of Command and General Staff UK (JSCSC). en 2023 publica «Ibizan corsairs in Gibraltar» (Ibiza editions) que ahora presenta su 2ª edición en Palma. Este libro ya se ha presentado en Ibiza, en Madrid y en Barcelona.
