SAINT GEORGE'S DAY IN PALMA
This Saturday 23 de abril, books take to the streets of Palma on the occasion of book day, St. George's Day. From nine in the morning to new at night, 30 Bookstores, associated with the Guild of Booksellers of Mallorca, they will go out and set up stalls in ten streets and squares of the city. Además, there will also be book signings by up to two hundred authors.
Organization of Sant Jordi's Day
For the organization of this edition of the Diada we have had the collaboration of the Consell de Mallorca and the City Council, as well as support from the Govern.
The activities for this event have been presented this Wednesday by the participating institutions: Bel Busquets, Vice President and Minister of Culture, Heritage and Linguistic Policy of the Council of Mallorca; Lluís Segura, insular director of language policy; Alberto Jarabo, Deputy mayor, of the Citizen Participation and Internal Government area; Anthony Noguera, Deputy mayor, from the area of Culture and Social Welfare; the Minister of European Funds, Government University and Culture, Michael Company; y Alex Volney, president of the Booksellers Guild of Mallorca. They have been accompanied by booksellers associated with the Gremi.

The booksellers will be established in 10 different places distributed by the city. So you can look at the books and buy quietly, with enough distance and without agglomerations. The stops will be open twelve hours, nine to nine. They will be distributed between Passeig del Born, Court Square, Plaza del Marquès de Palmer, La Rambla, verge of health, Main square, Sant Miquel, Plaza d'Espanya, Carrer Blanquerna and Plaça de la Porta Pintada.
Most of the participating bookstores have organized book signings at the stands, and also some in bookstores. Total, there will be almost 200 companies.
Además, to encourage the celebration of World Book Day, since Thursday 21 until Sunday 24, Participating and unionized bookstores will offer a discount of 10% when buying books.
