Diario de Mallorca: Born in Ibiza the first literary platform 'Online’
G.R For the first time in the history of Balears will launch a multimedia cultural platform accessible online, www.illes.cat, in which logically it will have a prominent role authors community.
This news was presented last Friday at the library Literanta Palma, during an act in which the critic José María Nadal participated Suau, the head of services the Ministry of Culture of the Govern, Miquel Àngel Lladó, and the creator of the platform, the ibicenco Ramon Mayol.
The initiative includes the publishing proposal Edicions aïllades, a first title (paper also), Tórridos abismos, which opens the collection of narrative Anacreptica.
“Think of a new publishing project in Balears, with so little favorable for new adventures economic context it might seem a risky work, practically impossible, but it is precisely this situation, along with new technologies that make it possible to make this project a reality today. An editorial XXI century”, says Mayol.
Ibizan producer and filmmaker recalls that new technologies can significantly cheapen the cost of publishing books and conventional publishers must adapt to this situation to be competitive.
