LITERARY STAYS IN MENORCA
In september 2010 Mariona Fernández and Josep Maria Fontserè began with a dream that they called Islados workshops, a cultural project that bets on the teaching offered by first-hand authors and creators. And that this June reaches its eighth season with the conferences and workshops of the writers Rosa Regàs, Juan José Millás and Andrés Neuman. We think it is a good plan to enjoy a few days in Menorca.
What is Talleres Islados?
The LITERARY STAYS IN MENORCA are courses with residency around literature, art and thought. for a maximum of 16 people, taught by prominent authors in the field of humanities. The idea of coexistence comes from how profitable it can be not only to listen in the classroom but also to share walks, prices, the garden…
They take place in a place menorcan, country house near the sea. Where in addition to living classes are given. Normally on Friday night they go to a public library on the island where the invited authors offer an open talk. Without forgetting that each one adapts the days to their favorite pleasures.
Juan Jose Millas
We want to highlight the figure of Juan José Millás because he has recently published his latest novel “let no one sleep” (published by Alfaguara) where the protagonist feels and identifies with a bird. As in all the work of Millás, unreality intermingles with the everyday.
Writer and journalist was born in Madrid in 1952. A los 22 years he published his first novel. His work has been translated into more than 20 languages and has received numerous awards. With the world" (2007), an autobiography, received the Planeta Award and the National Narrative Award, both in the same year.
During his literary stay in Menorca, of the 21 Al 24 of June, will talk about literature and journalism. Tchaikovsky or Mozart: http://talleresislados.net/como-funciona/
