ICCAR CLOSES ITS TRAINING PROJECT WITH THE WORK 'PLACE’

This Sunday 21 May at 18 hours will premiere Place at the Teatro Principal in Palma. It is a circus show produced jointly by Circ Bover and the International Circus Center for Artistic Research. (ICCAR).

Technical data of 'Place'

The production is directed by Roberto Magro and Petr Forman. At the level of interpretation, It stands out for having a cast made up of numerous international acting artists. The performers are Alva Julia Jansson Harju, Jakob Jacobsson, Natasha Chauhan, Marc Florencio, Melina Hernandez, Alzbeta Ticha, Gaia Santuccio, Viola Baroncelli, In Matusevicius, Eleftheria Lito Sarrigiannidou and Marilen Ribot Estelrich

The ICCAR project: training program for circus artists

'Place' is a special work, since it is the culmination of the ICCAR project launched almost a year ago. This project has consisted of a training program in which professionals from the world of the circus have participated in teaching in residence in various places in Mallorca..

On the other hand, The ICCAR training program has also organized meetings with Mallorcan and Catalan artists, and has promoted four creations by screening them in the presence of their creators.

ICCAR and Circaire 2023, Alcúdia Circus Festival

Within the framework of Circaire 2023, El 4 May ICCAR held the Unfinished Circuit in Alcúdia. Throughout the day, there was even 11 contemporary circus creation processes during a tour of the city. They participated in the event 33 professionals from Mallorca, communities in Spain and even other countries in Europe. This initiative made it possible to make visible the work of 5 Of the 11 artists who have benefited from this training program.

ICCAR and the theater of Mallorca

The ICCAR project has had the collaboration and support of six Majorcan theaters from the beginning.. The training modules have been rotating in an itinerant manner in each of these scenic spaces. So, The project has been brought closer to the public throughout the island. The participating theaters have been the Teatre Principal de Palma, the Alcúdia Auditorium, the Peguera Auditorium, CINEMA Sineu, Lloseta Theater and the Cap Vermell Centre.

‘Place’: ICCAR's grand closing

'Place' marks the closing of this first edition of ICCAR and brings together on stage 10 Of the 11 project artists. The work focuses on the relationship between poetry and circus. It is an original proposal based on the connections between space, objects and body.

The play 'Place' premieres on Sunday 21 May at 18 hours at the Principal Theater of Palma.
