CELEBRATES THE UIB 40 YEARS WITH POETRY AND PAINTING. University of the Balearic Islands- UIB and Baleària Foundation organized the exhibition "40 years, forty poets, XL artists ", in the Tower of the Dukes of Medinaceli of Verger, in Alicante.La exhibition will be open until 31 August in El Verger. Then travel for two years Balears locations, Barcelona, Valencia and Aragon.

A dozen artists and poets Pitiusan Balears, Aragon, the Algiers, northern Catalonia, Pais Valencia and Andorra exhibit their works. Plastic artists are representatives of Ibiza María Catalán, Pedro María Asensio, Diana Bustamante, Doralice Souza, Josefina Torres, Antoni Marí 'Tirurit', and Enric Riera formenterés. Each illustrated a poem by one of the 40 selected authors, among them the three Ibizan: Nora Albert, Marià Villangómez, and Antoni Marí Muñoz.

Objectives of the exhibition of painting and poetry UIB
Exposure UIB painting and poetry curated by Antoni Torres Martorell. Born with the aim to celebrate forty years of teaching, research and cultural tours of the University of the Balearic Islands. Also it aims to highlight and make possible the confluence of painters, sculptors and writers who share a common history and language. For it, the exhibition unites the words of forty poets with images of forty artists. The selection of artists has been made possible by the Association of Writers in Catalan. They have also helped the Department of Catalan Philology and General Linguistics at the UIB.
Poetry is an expression of aesthetic feeling through the word, It is the art of the word. The word given only reaches the searches because things happen when you lurks. If you're not there, painting, writing, dancing, Nothing happens.
It is a project of painting and poetry rooted in the past and mediterraneidad UIB. But above all looks to the future, for young college students share this idea of language and art.
