It PRESENTS THE BOOK: TO BE(T) ARCHITECT
Casa Broner hosts, on Saturday 5 October, a las 12:00 horas, the book launch “TO BE(T) ARCHITECT”, the author María del Mar Arnús, published by Editorial Anagrama, Collection at the Library of Memory.
The event will be attended by the author of the work and the architects Erwin Bechtold and Paco Sert.
“TO BE(T) ARCHITECT” It is the intimate biography and professional Josep Lluis Sert of, one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century. This biography at the same time intimate and professional, written from a family closeness has allowed access to personal documents, addresses all aspects of a fascinating and essential figure for understanding contemporary architecture.

Barcelona,1901 – 1983. He belonged to the second generation of modern architects. With Le Corbusier, in Paris, faithfully he took the functionalist canons summarized in its five fundamental principles of contemporary architecture. He participated in the International Congress of Architecture (C.I.A.N.) and comes to preside in 1947
Among his works: the US embassy. a Baghdad (1955); the health center (1957) and married student housing (1965) one Cambridge, Massachusetts; The Fondation Maeght in Saint Paul de Vence (1959); urban work in Latin America; luxury apartments in Pedralbes, Barcelona (1973); the museum Miro Foundation in Montjuic, Barcelona (1970) or the study of Joan Miró in Mallorca (1965).
Mary of the Sea Arnús
Mary of the Sea Arnús of Urruela (Badalona, 1945), BA in History of Art from the University of Barcelona, It is a historian and art critic. He is a member of the Catalan Association of Art Critics (ACCA) and the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). His work has been worth several painters and architects, including the figure of the painter Josep Maria Sert. Throughout his career he has curated numerous exhibitions of Catalan artists. He has written the manifesto “Gaudí on red alert” (2008) and testing “comets, prelude to modernity” (2000).
