MANEL MARÍ IN THE IBIZA MAGAZINE

on Sunday, 31 from January, it was three years since the death of the well-known Ibizan poet Manel Marí. thus, and to remember his figure and his trajectory, the Institut d’Estudis Eivissencs has decided to dedicate a monograph to him in the issue 68 from his Eivissa magazine.

This post, entirely in Catalan, born this year 1972 and it has become a benchmark in matters related to the Pitiusas. In this issue, writers have collaborated, poets, friends and acquaintances of the Ibizan poet, not only from Ibiza and Formentera but also from different parts of the Balearic Islands, Valencia and Catalonia. So, along the fences 70 pages of the publication directed by Enric Ribes i Marí, all of them contribute writings and reflections of different genres, from literary creation to studies on their work or mere memories or personal notes on the relationship they had with Marí.

Evoking Manel Marí's Tom Waits, written by Isidor Marí is the title of the initial text of the magazine and with which it is dedicated by Francesc Mompó and the also poet and writer born in Argel but settled in Ibiza for decades Jean Serra. The room in question is Amb en Manu, in memory of Juli Camarasa, and later it is followed by Des de la flama by Enric Sorja; Praise of the uninhabited, report of a presentation by Manel Marí in Formentera (2004) by Vicent Ferrer Mayans; Memories on the coast of Ibiza newspaper journalist Josep Angel Costa Soldat; Manel Marí ‘I don’t go to the paths’ by the director of the Historical Archive of Ibiza and Formentera, Fanny Tur; Memory can be a mirage of the well-known poet, writer and journalist Julio Herranz y Manu, the friend of his friends, of the also journalist Fernando de Lama.

The most emotional part of this number 68 of the magazine Eivissa is the central. It is occupied by a heartfelt tribute in which many poets have participated, usual publications of the Institut d'Estudis Eivissencs and others of new collaboration. In the final section they write Xavier Aliaga; Lluís Roda; Miquel Cardell; Sam Abrams; Pau Sanchis Ferrer and Josep Pedrals. The last item is set, is called Manel Marí and the poetic nights and is signed by Jaume Vidal Forteza, Marià Tur Ribas and Neus Cardona Ribas.

The presentation ceremony has been postponed due to the situation caused by the pandemic.
