With a long professional career, Chapí carries 55 years directing theater. Half a century has passed since he founded the Blat d'Eivissa theater school in the city. She is also the founder of GAT, the Amateur Theater Group created in 1975. This is her main legacy as a theater director.. with this company, Chapí has ​​directed more than seventy productions to date, some of them of great relevance. The GAT was a great advance in the development of Ibiza theater, because until then it only had a stable theater group. The GAT has a strong social perspective in all its productions, fruit largely of Chapí's ideas, firm opponent of Francoism and defender of democracy and progress. Later, Chapí founded the GAT Theater School, where fundamental personalities of Ibizan theater have been trained under his direction.

The Ibiza Gold Medal is not the only important merit that the artist has achieved. en 2018 He has already obtained the Ramon Llull Award from the Government of the Balearic Islands in recognition of his theatrical career.. The Gold Medal will be awarded to him next 5 of August.
