Pallares interview with Nerea. Winner of the II International Short Story Award Las Dalias Ibiza

Nerea Pallares He began creating with pen and paper at an early age, winning his first literary competitions at thirteen. This year 2018 He has won the II International Short Story Award Dahlias Ibiza. His story "The offering" was selected unanimously by the jury from over 1.789 stories from America and Spain. Of which only 15 They were selected for retesting. The jury was formed by the academician of the Royal Spanish Academy José María Merino, Clara Obligado writer and editor Fabio Flor.

The story will be published in the journal Las Dalias Ibiza & Formentera Magazine 2018, and it has won a prize of 3.000 euros.

Nerea Pallares writer has studied journalism, and participated in such interesting programs like the tenth promotion of young creators of the Foundation Antonio Gala. He has published a book of stories, titulado Sidecar, edited by Ediciones Oblicuas.

P: When and how did you decide to make writing an occupation?

R: I think more than a conscious decision, literature initially emerged as the need. And today I do not know if I can say that it has become my job because should ask what we mean by this: If trade means that writing is the main source of economic sustenance or simply have made it a way of life. I am inclined to regard it as the second.

P: Where did you get the motivation to make the decision?

R: I do not think there has been a turning point in which I saw bound to make a decision, It has been natural: I persevered just doing what I like and I hope to continue doing.

P: What does it mean to you to have won the international prize tale Las Dalias?

R: Recognition by a luxury jury who deeply appreciate his literary judgment and, Thus, a great motivation to continue writing.

P: What public means or what are you writing now?

R: I am immersed in writing a second book of short stories.

P: Why you writing?

R: Necessity and pleasure. When I write, not contradictory.

P: Why publish your manuscripts and do not leave them in the drawer?

R: Writing is not just writing. Is also someone else read it and, somehow, se lo close.

P: What babies sources?

R: What is more I read poetry and short story in Castilian. Especially writers and writers from Latin America, where the short story has greater legitimacy and tradition.

P: What animal do you like it?

R: I have an obsession with birds. I generated mixed feelings and often appear in my narrative.

P: Do you believe in intuition?

R: Of course. With it you reach the same point with rational thought and conscious, only much earlier: It is a shortcut.

P: ¿The traditional publishing Desktop Publishing?

R: I think both options are lawful provided that it be given to publishing the care it deserves.

P: The books may disappear?

R: I do not know if someday disappear books, in any case, what they are the stories never disappear. We will always need to tell us and we tell ourselves and the world.
