VILA DE SANTANYÍ LITERARY AWARDS: AWARDS

The Vila de Santanyí Literary Awards were presented this weekend. The act, held at the Teatre Principal of the town, is one of the most anticipated in the municipality. This year, The winners have been chosen among the 126 works presented. Of this, 53 they were poetry; 33 narrative and 40 of the new theatrical category.

Winners of the different categories

First, in the poetry category, the Bernat Vidal i Tomàs Award, the award went to "Esquerdes o Bucòliques", the anthology of poems by Antoni Nomen. Además, was chosen unanimously by the jury formed by Antònia Vicens, Esteve Plantada and Jaume Mateu. Although Antoni Nomen could not attend the delivery, was present virtually from a thank you video.

In second place, The Antoni Vidal Ferrando Narrative Award went to Joan Deusa and her novel “El bosc de la vampira”. in this case, the winning work was chosen by a majority of the jury composed of Miquel Segura, Antònia Vicens Picornell and Jaume Mateu i Esteve Plantada for the poetry modality. Pons. Además, the jury made a special mention to the work "El cofret argentí".

By last, The Vila de Santanyí Theater Award went to the work "Zona Inundable" by Marta Barceló. This year is the first edition in which a theatrical category is included in the Awards. The judge, composed by Toni Gomila, Catalina Inès Florit and Elisenda Riera, has highlighted the documentation of the work, based on the natural disaster that occurred in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar in 2008.

In the award ceremony, the high participation in the Awards and the quality of the literary works received were highlighted.

The act ended with the words of the mayor of the municipality, Maria Pons, who has congratulated the winners and thanked the participants of this edition.

after the act, it was possible to enjoy a concert by the group Quatre de Cor, who played a very varied and extensive repertoire to put the finishing touch to this literary evening.
