Dramatized reading about Rafael Alberti in Ibiza
Rafael Alberti, accompanied by his first wife, Maria Teresa Leon, visited the island of Ibiza in 1936. Produccions Aïllades reconstructs that stage in the life of the Cadiz poet in a new installment of the series The monologues of history. An actor (or an actress) embodies the poet who, through a dramatized reading of some 35 minutos, takes us into a private story, of love and poetic contemplation in the Ibiza of the first cosmopolitan travelers of the 1930s as well as in the ideological tensions of that decade that ended up exploding in some terrible days. The production is directed by Ramon Mayol. The adaptation of the text is by Carlos Garrido, based on the book by Antonio Colinas “Rafael Alberti in Ibiza. “Six weeks of the summer of 1936” (Tusquets).
This dramatized reading has already taken place for secondary school students with great success.. specific, the poet Julio Herranz, who was Alberti's personal secretary during his visit to the island in 1986 and personal friend of Antonio Colinas, he took care of reading the text.
Also the Ibizan actress Cuqui Lladó (Matilde Lladó De Lara), has embodied the Cadiz poet in this dramatized reading.
