INTERVIEW WITH RAMON MAYOL (1ª parte)

The editor, writer, musician and short film director Ramon Mayol will soon present his new book of short stories ‘Inside offers and other stories‘. The launch events for this collection of 13 short stories will be:

-El 25 February at 19.00 hours at Finis Africae bookstore in Palma, Mallorca.

-El 28 February at 20.00 hours at the Teatro España in Santa Eulària.

-El 4 May at 19.30 hours in the Marià Villangómez Library in Formentera.

INTERVIEW WITH JOSÉ M: This is your fourth book. What does 'Ofertes a l'interior have?’ that is not in your other publications?

Ramon Mayol,: When I published my first book of stories I did not have the perspective that I have now because more than ten years have passed and that is reflected in the stories and in my way of writing..

P: What is the process of writing a work for more than a year??

RM: I decided to write some 10 O 12 stories in a couple of years. Each month, about, I finished one to have five or six in a year.

P: Each story has a QR code that directs to an audio which you read the text yourself. How was the recording process?

RM: It has been fun because when you read his stories aloud you realize the imperfections and the successes.. I think I will repeat the experience because it gives the freedom to choose one or both formats. Since I am not a radio host or voice actor, I wouldn't do it for other authors.

P: Is there a story from the book that you are going to adapt into a short film??

RM: Almost every time I write a story, I think about transferring it to a script. This is the case of some stories from 'Ofertes a l'interior'. So, the story can be read, listen and see.
